Cory Thomas DST advisor and investor

Cory Thomas holds a Juris Doctor from Chapman University and a B.A. in Real Estate Finance from San Diego State University. He bought his first real estate investment at 22 years old shortly after graduating from college.

Cory has personally owned and managed over 500 residential units, including multifamily apartment communities, single-family rental homes, mobile home parks, and commercial properties. His hands-on operating experience includes market and property analysis, cycle analysis, acquisition, asset management, financing, renovation oversight, tenant management, and disposition strategy.

In addition to direct ownership, he has personally invested in approximately 30 TIC and DST properties, giving him firsthand experience as both an investor and an advisor within the 1031 replacement property field.

He has been a Registered Securities Representative since 1999 (Series 7 and 63 licensed) and is a member of the Alternative & Direct Investment Securities Association (ADISA).

Over the course of his career, he has focused extensively on management-free real estate strategies, property and market analysis, sponsor evaluation, debt structure analysis, and investor suitability considerations. His approach emphasizes disciplined due diligence, realistic risk assessment, and transparent communication for investors and their advisors.
